Fire Certification / Info
Fire Certification / Info
Fire Doors Certification
To confirm the door received is certified, look for a label or plug indicating certification. Additionally, check the instructions/certificate supplied with the product for information on its certification.
Certificate for made to measure fire doors are supplied separately immediately after your door is delivered.
Fire Doors Accessories
CE marking is mandatory for essential ironmongery items like locks, latches, closers, and hinges. To ensure compliance, these items must be firmly fixed with no missing screws and be compatible with the door leaf's certification.
Fire Door Frames / Seals
It is essential that the frame specification is appropriate for the fire rating of the door. Additionally, the selection of frame/lining/casing and intumescent/smoke seals should be compatible with each other.
Installation Guides
- It is crucial to avoid cutting glazing apertures on site, as doing so will render the certification invalid. Only a certificated licensed processor should carry out the cutting of apertures for glazing and air transfer grilles.
- The gap between the door and frame should be between 2-4 mm at the top and sides, and the threshold gap should follow the manufacturer's instructions (usually around 8-10 mm). Details of the recommended threshold gap will be included in the certificate
- It's crucial that anyone who installs a fire door is fully trained and capable of doing so.
